Orual's honest Opinion or Olivia's Offensiveness
As I continue to relive the story in my mind, I go over all of the parts that seemed the most significant as well as the events that seemed unimportant. my mind keeps coming back to her confession. it makes me think about the internal dialogue … it is as if she lived with these feelings and thoughts her entire life. I mean, she destroyed her whole life over it. but those deep internal...

Today I saw a man sitting on the side of the road.
I’m not sure if he was homeless… I think maybe that he was not.
Maybe he lived in a house, but I wouldn’t say that it is a home, anyway.
He looked like his soul was completely broken.
When I looked at him- I happened to make eye contact.
Inside, I felt like I could read his entire life story.
His eyes told me that he doesn’t have much that...

“Depth, Mystery, Complexity, and Beauty
One of the deepest ways a woman bears the image of God is in her mystery. By mystery we don’t mean “forever beyond your knowing,” but “something to be explored.” “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter,” says the book of Proverbs, “to search out a matter is the glory of kings” (25:2). God...
I need a really big hammer
Orual loved her sister so much. When she lost her sister through her own actions, it destroyed who she was for he rest of her life on earth. She was never very kind again. She never cared for others again. When she lost her sister she decided to veil herself forever. Her reason was the ugliness of her face. But it was more than that. Orual hid herself behind the veil because of the ugliness from...

Because the world is ending.
Most people are extremely demoralized and it is impossible to communicate with them.
The world is so wicked.
Why did I get blessed and why didn’t I become one of those people?
Why do I seem to be one of the only people that see it?
Why does it bother me more than it bothers other people?
What am I supposed to do about it?
“The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers...

a laugh a day keeps the posers away
during much of the time that i think during the day, it is about people. I am always wondering why and analyzing why certain people do or say the things that they do. even if they are not intentionally trying to tell me something, i read into it just knowing that they must be subconsciously trying to give me a message. obviously, this can easily put my emotions in trouble. I’d be lying if i...

how i got here.
there was a storm.
and i was in the storm with no shelter.
but in the middle of the storm, i was inspired.
they say, it is darkest before the dawn.
Bad temper, sensitivity, aggression all have to do with a persons insecurity and feeling inferior. Once i realized this, i was able to gain strength to handle these types of people. and it helped me to really be happy with who i am as a person....

solitude
“The strongest trees are those that grow alone. The greatest dreams are those conceived alone. God can speak to you only when you are alone. Your purpose and life’s meaning will be revealed to you only when you are alone. Yes, solitude is not the hovel of a recluse, but the mansion of a master. It is a place of joy. Yet, don’t retreat to it to such an extent that you neglect...
